Cafe Intermezzo 12/17/07

We love Cafe Intermezzo.  Located at 2442 Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley, it's a great place to get a lot of delicious food for not a lot of money.  Erin got a salad for about 5 bucks that ended up feeding her throughout the day.  The bread there is great too, and everybody loved their sandwiches.  We had a full house today.  In addition to the normal crew, Rico and his friend Carolyn came.  Kaya even was able to come inside and hide under the table.  It was a great find.

Everett & Jones 12/10/07

Mijo recommended this one. We were thinking of going for ribs in San Francisco, but as soon as we picked Mijo up from his house, plans changed and we veered onto the freeway towards Jack London Square. It ended up being a great decision. We never seem to make it to Oakland for breakfast, but today we did. We had our normal full crew with us today: Robert, Rico, Moji, Erin, Mijo, Dave, and of course Kaya the dog. Robert is Rico's and Moji's father, and Mijo and Dave are his two buddies from childhood. Erin is Moji's caregiver. Kaya is the best dog in the universe.

Anyway, we found handicapped parking really close to Everette & Jones ( 126 Broadway (between 2nd St & W Embarcadero), and headed on in. Moji was really excited, and even Kaya didn't mind being tied up outside today. Erin was scared, as she's vegan, but it ended up being no big deal as they had a salad option. We were seated promptly, and it was spacious inside so Moji's wheelchair was easily accommodated. Even the bathroom was handicapped accessible. We were all given jars of water with lemons, and the before we knew it the food was there. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, and the service was great.

Cafe Divine 12/3/07

Although we've been going out for breakfast club on Monday mornings for over a year now, this is the beginning of our blog. And it starts with Café Divine in North Beach, at 1600 Stockton Street on Washington Square. We weren't planning on going to it, but we did want to check out the breakfast scene in North Beach, and we happily stumbled upon it. It was great. It was easy to wheel Moji into, and our server was super friendly and accommodating. At one point Robert lifted his hand gesturing something or another in conversation, and the waiter came rushing over to see if he could get us anything. The food was good, and so was the view for Moji, who loves to people watch. All in all we definitely enjoyed the experience.
